How to Get Kawaii Ghost Soft Pink Nails at Home

Difficulty: Beginner-friendlyTime: 45 minWear: 2–3 weeks

The same tiny ghost, on a soft baby-pink base. Glossy, short enough for a weekday, and only the ring finger gets the face. It is Halloween for people who still want a pink manicure.

The colour story

Baby pink does the work. It is creamy and light, not hot pink. The ghost is the same small white shape as the lilac version: two dots, a short smile, and plenty of pink left around it.

Step by step

  1. Prep

Push back cuticles, shape to a medium oval, and lightly buff the shine off the nail plate, including the free edge. Brush off the dust, wipe with rubbing alcohol or a nail dehydrator, and let the nail dry completely.

  2. Base coat

Brush on a thin layer and cap the free edge. Keep it off the skin and cuticles. If a coat feels hot, take your hand out and finish the cure in short passes.

    Cure 60–90 s
  3. Pink, 2 coats

Apply Cream Puff in two thin coats, capping the free edge, and cure after each one. It should look even and creamy. Thin coats cure fully and will not wrinkle.

    Cure 60 s per coat
  4. One tiny ghost

On the ring nail only, paint a small rounded blob with French White, a little wider at the bottom. Keep it smaller than the nail. Cure, then add a second thin pass if the pink shows through. For the sticker route, wipe the cured pink with alcohol, let it dry, press on one small ghost, and seal it under the top coat.

    Cure 60–90 s
  5. Eyes and smile

Wipe most of the black liner off the brush. Dot two eyes and pull a short smile. Keep the liner off the skin. Skip this step if the sticker already has a face.

    Cure 60 s
  6. Glossy top coat

Seal every nail with the no-wipe top coat and cap the edges. Do not wipe this coat after curing. The sticker needs it or it will lift.

    Cure 60–90 s

Pro tips

  • Keep the ghost small. Leave pink showing all the way around it. A large ghost turns the nail into a sticker, not a soft pink set.
  • White needs a longer cure. Opaque white blocks the lamp. Thin coats, 60–90 seconds each, or the ghost wrinkles.
  • Rings off until the top coat is cured. A ring can dent a fresh top coat. Put jewellery back on after the last cure.
  • Thumbs flat in the lamp. A tilted thumb sits in the shadow of the lamp and can stay under-cured. Cure thumbs flat, or cure them on their own.
  • Patch-test first. Gel can cause allergies. Keep it off your skin and cuticles, and stop if you get itching or redness.

FAQ

How is this different from the lilac ghost?

Only the base colour. This one is baby pink. The ghost, the placement on the ring nail, and the steps are the same.

Can I use a sticker instead of painting the ghost?

Yes. Cure the pink, wipe it with alcohol so the sticker sits on a dry nail, press on the smallest plain ghost from the sticker sheet, then seal it with the no-wipe top coat.

How long does it last, and how do I remove it?

With good prep and thin, fully cured layers, expect about 2–3 weeks. To remove, lightly buff the shine off the top coat, soak a cotton pad in acetone, and wrap each nail in foil for at least 15 minutes. Then gently push the gel off. If it still holds, soak for another 5 minutes. Never peel it.
